An article by Jonathan Passmore and myself in the South African magazine SA Coaching News (volume 1(11); 4-7) talks about how we need to undertake research into the effectiveness of coaching. The editors call the article 'somewhat controversial', which is a first for me! In it we draw the parallel with homeopathy, where there is no evidence base for its effectiveness, and argue that coaching needs to improve its evidence base. The editor liked it enough to include it in a special edition (SA Coaching News (2020); 2(special issue 3): 43-46) published for a meeting for the University of Stellenbosch Business School. A similar German language translation appears as a blog in Coaching Magazin.
